NoH8 Prop 8

See the full out fit I wore for the shoot HERE
Mom and Daughter Shot.

See no evil,Speak no evil, Hear no evil

I feel honored to have been able to have the opportunity to pose for the NOH8 Campaign and it would not have happened if it wasn't for, my dearest friend, Jay Link, lead singer of the heavy metal rock band "Death and Taxes" (in picture above).
The NOH8 Campaign started in California and has been spreading it's influence throughout the USA- going to large cities to take photos of faces that care about Equality+ Love for all and who support Gay marriage! "Every face counts" said the co founder and artist behind NOH8- Adam Bouska (www.NOH8CAMPAIGN.COM)
I will cherish these photos for not only the artistry but for the message that is behind them! A big thanks to Adam Bouska and his partner Jeff Parshley!
God Bless

Cleo and Motto

Masahura Morrimoto's restaurant-
"Morrimoto"
and the
Cleopatra Exhibition

Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto is known for his fresh take on Japanese cuisine and for being one of the few Chefs ever to beat Bobby Flay in the Iron Chef competition. The restaurant that I had the delightful pleasure to fill myself up with is Morimoto. Here, in Philly, is the first Morimoto which opened in 2001. Being a hit- Masahura opened a Morimoto in Boca Raton, FL and Chelsea NYC. Masahura has a restaurant in Tokyo called XEX and it has received a Michelin Star- you go Masahura Morimoto !
Early in the day I went to Franklin Institute's exhibition of Cleopatra. The pieces that were being shown in this exhibition were all taken straight out of the Mediterranean Ocean where Cleopatra's home of Heracleion/Canopus is located. The exhibition"s next stop is Florida. If you are in Florida I recommend checking it out. After the exhibition my stomach was grumbling and I am hardly ever in downtown Philly and I had been hoping to try Morrimoto.
At Morrimoto I could not narrow my decision down to one thing. But I have heard that Morrimoto has a divine tasting menu. hmmm... 7 courses of yummy goodness YES! I am so glad that I had the opportunity to let my grumbling tummy be in the hands of Iron Chef Masahura Morimotto.
Below are pictures of every course in first to last order. Enjoy !

Taro Tartar with chips with scallions and caviar on top, wasabi and yum yum berry from Japan.

Octopus Carpaccio in a light oil.

Lightly seared Ahi Tuna and SocEye Salmon. Greens with a carmelized onion reduction

Shrimp Tempura in a sweet and sour sauce. Very good.SO Rich...

Chilean Sea Bass with a pepper miso yummyness on the top and then the rich fish is placed in a light broth.

LOTS OF GOOD FISHHHH

Amazing. This was a cake stuffed with a luscious peach and then soaked in white tea. This cake is then topped with a peach compote caramel crisp and a white chocolate buttermilk mousse. Too Good. Then the cake is served with a peach molasses sauce.

Hustle

WAIT A TICK---
what is a Hustler..
Well I have always thought of a hustler as being someone who does something inappropriate or Hustler is the name for a dirty magazine.... either to me sounds not veryyyyyy "lady like."
But when I was told by my mother while we are on our quest to find me an agent, she told me "You are going to need to hustle..."           Whhaaa???                "...even if you find you an agent."
hmmmm rewind please.
What does this mean... I am going to have to start reading "hustler" Magazine- is the act of reading Hustler magazine known as "hustling"??? Hahaha I DONT THINK SO....
What this meant was - even if I do find an agent.. I am still going to have to, work my tookus off,  to find jobs ..
WHEwwwwww- got a little worried that I would have to "hustle" in a wrong way.

Fashion: In my pictures I am wearing Charlottle Russe shoes, Club Monaco pants, anthropology tank and BEBE's Runway Collectable linen jacket.
This was my first time wearing this jacket. I really love it.. but after one wear, it has to be sent to get dry cleaned just so I can keep it in lovely condition. I wore this outfit on the last day of my trip. The reason I am wearing all white is because I was going to a photo shoot for the "NOH8Campaign" wear all of the people who are selected to be photographed need to wear white tops. I just decided to show my support by wearing all white =). The pictures from the photo shoot are coming soon- hang tight.

LA Shoe

While taking a walk to a restaurant called Momed-  this restaurant is a couple blocks away from my hotel, in Beverly Hills,
Momed is Mediterranean Fusion with every ingredient coming from the Farmers Markets of Beverly Hills except the spices are from all over the middle eastern world. YUM. I went to Momed 4times while in LA.

My eye couldn't help but notice a few shops while walking back from a early dinner- a lunch/dinner... a linner or a dunch .
I found these shoes the first day. They were on sale =)! The brand of these shoes are DaniBlack

Fate would have it - that I was wearing the outfit in my below post with a pair of white sandals and I found these shoes that day and wore them out PLUS the color of the shoes is the same color as my top haha.. toooooo crazyy

Small Change

HELLo
Being back home from the long LA trip is such a nice thing. For the next couple of weeks I will be sharing trendy postings as I reflect on my time in LA. My first full day in LA I wore this outfit. During the day- the sun was out and no jacket was necessary... but in LA if you dont like the heat just move 5 feet over into the shade haha. Later on that day I put on my small sporty jacket and my Karl Lagerfeld  Long necklace. Just a small addition to an outfit can change it and I thought this was a great example of how a small addition can look..
MUAH

Fashion: High waisted "Guess" shorts, "Susanna Monocco" tube top, a "Three Dot" jacket and Karl Lagerfeld.

Amazing True Blood

What can I tell ya...  It was an awe inspiring day for this up and coming young actress!  We arrived at our call time and were greeted by crew members ready to take me to wardrobe, hair, makeup - getting me ready for my part of the day.  The wardrobe was sparse since it is, of course, Bon Temps!  Sorta picture Daisy Duke meets Walmart.  I had no idea how many takes, retakes and re-retakes there were just to get one scene.  I found out the night before that the Cast and Crew were there filming until 2 am! I knew then I was in for a long but exciting day.....and it only got better.  I can't put in too much detail at this point because it is all kept under wraps.  I can tell you that the location for this shoot is the Bon Temps Town Hall and Police Department.  When I wasn't doing my part of the filming, I was fortunate enough to sit with the amazing Alan Ball, the producer and creator of True Blood, Six Feet Under and  co-producer of American Beauty.  I was in total and complete awe - and he treated us like we were old friends.  We got to sit in special director chairs and wear headsets so we could hear everything that was going on during the filming behind the scenes.  As we were sitting there all of a sudden my heart drops to my stomach and up walks Stephen Moyer (a/k/a Bill).  He sat with us and we just "chatted it up" the entire time.  He sat right next to me the entire time and was so amazingly sweet (and pretty dang handsome to boot!).  He shared pictures with us from his IPhone, talked about his two kids, laughed about past shoots, talked technology, games(he is addicted to the IPhone game app "Doodle Bug" and loves the talking Hamster App.), etc.   I now understand totally why Anna Paquin has fallen for this guy.  He's a total sweetheart.  As we move from one set to the next I met other cast members....can I say Jason Stackhouse is in the house!!  Got to hang with him and Chris Bauer. Chris Bauer was so tall and built-it's obvious that he is a great actor since he makes his character on TB  look stockier and his voice in real life is totally different than his character in TB...BUT What a cutie - it was a very "G" rated day as far as TB is concerned - everyone kept their shirts on! I did my little acting bit which was a lot of fun and I learned so much.  I am practicing my signature just in case I get flooded with requests for my autograph! LOL - a girl can dream right?  Although I am on a mission to make this dream a total reality.   On set were - Chris Bauer ( Detective Andy Bellefleur), Carrie Preston (Arlene Fowler),  Tod Flowe (Terry Bellefleur) and Ryan Kwanten (Jason Stackhouse) and not on set but sitting right next to me (all day long!!!)  Stephen Moyer (Bill).

Thank you Gianna (assistant to Alan Ball) for the pictures and the kindness you showed this newbie!

TB- My Prequel

Ladies and Gentlemen, the day is almost upon us (well, not really us...but just me lol).  Tomorrow I will make my way onto the set of True Blood and will finally realize a dream - being in front of the camera.  Not just any camera mind you....but the amazing Vampire World of True Blood! Fangtazia here I come.  So here's what I know so far....I will first be greeted by Alan Ball's (the Creator and Director of TB) assistant and then taken on a bus with the cast and crew to the shooting location (top secret stuff).  I am freaking out ya'll.  I have been practicing my southern accent and it sounds real nice.  I have no idea at this point what role I will be portraying - sure hope it is a character that ERIC can sink his teeth into...lol.  Or if not Eric, then Jason wouldn't be too bad either...oh well.   Look out Sookie.....here I come!  Stay tuned for more......

Arrival

I have arrived in LA!
I touched down Sunday at 5pm west-coast time. I unloaded in my room and went for a walk outside to see what kind of boutiques I could find. I came back to the hotel with two bags. One bag with chocolate and red velvet cupcakes from the infamous "Famous Cupcakes"
YUM YUM YUM
Oh, the second bag had 2 large yogurts from Pinkberry- all for the premiere of True Blood. I was shocked by the instant nudity of Bill, Eric and Jason- but, hey, I am not complaining..
I can not believe that I get to meet everyone on Wed. of this week. Dream Come True.
BYE =)
P.S: The  pictures seen in this post= the view out of my room window here in LA.

Hermes

Here are some of my beloved Hermes Scarves. These items are collected and sought after by many. I have been collecting these scarves and ties- receiving one every year as a gift for Christmas's and Birthdays. But I can never seem to get the chance to wear them all- so I am selling them for a fraction of their original price. All of the scarves and ties you see(and more) are being sold at The Bee's Nest.

Pack back

DULUTH PACK

I was given this Authentic Duluth Pack from my new girl at my graduation. For those who do not know what a new girl is- it is essentially a new student to the school. Each girl is paired with a senior. This pairing is called Old Girl-New Girl. Simple. My new girl's name is Ali, and this was her parting gift to me- so sweet of her to even think of me. This bag is a combination of leather and dyed canvas. Mine is black with brown leather - classic colors which work for any fashion situation.  Canvas also happens to be perfect for an artist. This bag will be my good luck charm while I travel to LA today as my carry on. My favorite thing so far about this bag is the straps. The straps are thick and comfortable. Thank you so much Ali for making my senior year a blast and I hope you liked what I wrote in your year book. =)

Now on another note.....

Congratulations to my lovely seniors at Oldfield's School in Glencoe, MD. Sorry I couldn't be there to see you walk down the hill at Graduation but know I was there in spirit. Have a great summer !

Dress for success?

Typical protocol:
Why is it that when going on a job interview or a career meeting do we have to dress overly conservative? I am not saying that showing up for a meeting in your skivvies is a good idea-oh contrer. Many say that the reason is to "look more professional." Or that conservative is "safe" and the main purpose of the job interview is to - land the job. But it's hard for an eclectic fashionista such as myself to travel the conservative route on anything. Hmmmm, maybe if I add a Chanel ring like the one here? A little over the top? Maybe, but isn't that really me? What exactly am I supposed to be portraying at an interview..... who I am or some person that in reality, really isn't me? So who do I become for an upcoming interview? Someone who lands the job dressed one way only to show up for work dressed entirely different? Maybe a happy compromise - a little bit of me and a little bit conservative....so this outfit might just be my way of compromising.... So for all of you who now find yourself in a position of landing that perfect job and what to wear for the interview to land that spot I say.....be yourself.

Fashion: Purple and Blue jumpsuit and a Vintage white ruffle jacket with a belt that came with the jumpsuit. The ring, a Chanel clone that I picked up in St. Tropez, France. Shoes - Trina Turk.

Fiberwig Mascara

Fiberwig Mascara is the #1 mascara in Japan. I swear by this mascara. Fiberwig mascara does not smudge,is water resistant and comes off easily. Fiberwig mascara binds to your lashes to make them lush and beautiful and coats them like a "wig". How? This special mascara is engineered to have twice the micro fibers to make it dries instantly and make you have perfect lashes every time. My favorite thing about Fiberwig is how it does not damage my lashes- with warm water, the mascara just slips right off. Get yours today

Stupid Diesel

Diesel
In honor of Diesel: I am wearing total French Diesel in the photo's above.

Diesel has a new campaign,"Be Stupid."

I was completely thrown off by this new route and idea of "being stupid." I think it is a cool idea that will catch people's attention but I am interested as to how Diesel is going to take "being stupid" into their clothing.Click on the title: "Diesel" to go straight to their website and play around with all of their games and then share them. Enjoy...
