Picasso in silk

Picasso in scarf form-Have your own for just 10.00$ on Etsy.com.(just search Picasso scarves in google)
Having a Picasso around your neck is a sure stunner.
Here are two scarves that we found laying in a pile of a box of scarves that I bought in bulk. When you buy things in bulk off of eBay it is really a guessing game of what you might find. I found these beauties along with a few others that I will share with you in other posts.

Clog Trend?

I remain confused by the choice to bring back the clog.  The top picture shows "clogs by numbers," I am a lover of nice quality leathers and like woods with shoes- gives off a polished quality. But I have no idea why they are back- their "slip on" ability may make them seem practical but they are one of the least flattering blocks and make your feet look large.  In the second picture- it shows the Chanel clogs for this summer. Oh Chanel, I have never really not liked your things. The only thing these shoes have going for them- is that they have a patch of embroidered sparkles tapped on the top. Now, the picture at the bottom of this post are clogs from The swedish company "Hasbeens" .
These clogs are being sold on Urban Outfitters for 250 $- I start this post and end it being confused as to why these shoes where brought back and who would ever spend 250 for them....
beats me.. I will keep you posted if I ever have a 'clog revelation'... till then, enjoy

Buddah Get-up

Zen Baby, Zen
It's Friday! Thank you!
This week seemed to want to suck me dry by taking forever to finish up. Oh but I was hit with the Friday night slump. The slump that hits you when you are excited for the weekend then notice you have no plans to celebrate your "Friday night." Friends are all gone or "booked,"and you are stuck- stuck alone and stuck in a slump. I felt this way - but was thinking about the good possibilities of this freebie of a night.... I could meditate... take a really long time to shave and moisturize.... I could write poetry... research fashion, art and food.. watch a movie that "I" love... or even go to the gym and take my time going through a sculpting routine. Yes, this slump may be the most refreshing night I have had in a long time. Being alone- I could take all the time in the world just doing things that I would normally take 10 mins to do...
I am listening to some Oldies but Goodies.... like A-HA "Take on me" and the Eurythmics. Enjoy your night and take time to enjoy the Moon- it is full again tonight...
10 days till I leave to start filming for True Blood...
Fashion: Michael Stars tank and the rest of the outfit is authentic Indian from India.. so nice when it is hot out.

The benefits of window shopping...oh PHI

Word of advice- When you are on the shopping prowl...Find those designers that are going out of business with NYC hub stores! The pants in this post are from a design company called "PHI". PHI was an up and coming european design house who, on the journey of fashion stardom was wiped out by the economy. Walking down Prince St. in NYC's SOHO District, I passed by the store as usual to see what kind of things I could "look at" (ah the glory of window shopping) and low and behold I see naked women changing in the back of this elegant store. Curious as to why and just thinking they are nudists, I walked in and saw tons of racks that had been brought out from storage- prices had gone from thousands to hundreds and some even less. I found these pants and a few others, and I myself became a nudist at the PHI store. All the dressing rooms were full and people were just literally dropping their clothes and trying on these steal of a deal...deals. After standing in a corner changing for 30 minutes I decided to try on these chiffon harem pants that have silk accents witha zipper on the leg- these pants were originally $1,548 big ones and I got them for...brace yourself.....$75. Now that is the way to shop...which left me with more money to go buy my favorite chocolates....a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do!

Ruby et Violette

There was a special on the Food Network that unveiled the" Best Bakeries" in the United States. The third best bakery was "Ruby et Violette". After finding out that they deliver, my mom was quick to send me a "perishable" care package. In my mail box I saw a slip saying that I had a package..I had no idea what was in it. All I knew was that it was "perishable"=which means FOOD. These cookies truely  knocked my socks off. They have some really yummy flavors. I received 2 of each cookie flavor. I found in my box a Peach Cobbler cookie, Oatmeal Butterscotch cookie,Chocolate Peanut Butter cookie,Champagne Strawberry cookie, German Chocolate cake cookie, Bailey's "White Irish" cookie, Dark Chocolate with Cream Cheese, and many others. I wanted to savor them as much a possible.. small niblets.haha. Just click on the title of this paragraph and you'll go straight to that decadent bakery's website. If you aren't a cookie person? Just look at their brownies...
P.s: So good that I just ordered another order today...teehehe, Maybe these cookies will make graduation come sooner.

Black, White and Lashes

Plain and simple right? How ordinary can a white button down with black pants be, right? I threw the bangs back in a pin and twisted the rest of my hair in a clipped bun. I felt conservative. Well, actually too conservative... I thought of this outfit as a good reason to wear my black and white lashes featured at the bottom. You know when you really want to wear a particular item the next day and you actually coordinate the perfect ensemble to showcase this item? Well that is what I did for these lashes. These lashes needed to happen and I am working them the best I know how - Look out Cover Girl you've got nothing on me!

The shoes are Jeffrey Campbell's Clinic that have been lusted over by many other bloggers. These shoes make even my other wedges jealous. The pants are "Cheap Mondays" and the blouse is "All Saints." One of the coolest things about this blouse is the double layered collar.. see it below...

Earthy Creams, Corks and Leather

Zara Women Wedges

"A woman carries her clothes, but it's a SHOE which carries a woman." *Christian Louboutin

Ah, the weather....
New England has been very tempermental with it's weather lately. The current down pour of rain tells me what to wear or more importantly, what not to wear! Because of this down pore, good shoes should not be worn. Well, I couldn't wear any good shoes even if I wanted to. The reason you ask.... I have been quite clumsy this past weekend. I fell twice. No, no, not just a little bump in the road type of tripping but rather face plants. On Saturday I fell behind the theater while back stage (no, I wasn't thinking literally "break a leg"). I managed to fall on the concrete only portion and not the softer, wood portion, brilliant. I put my hand out to brace myself and ended up bruising the palm of my hand as it landed on a cinder-block. My right upper arm and both of my knees decided to change color to a nice eggplant colored bruise (more of a Fall color than a Spring one - lol). Then on Sunday I was running and got spooked by a car getting very close to me... trying to dodge it became a problem- I ended up putting one foot on the slanted guardrail, but my ankle couldn't catch up- so my ankle and my foot just folded in half.. lovely. Now I am gimping around school and have decided that I am just going to have to take it easy for the next few days. I am having a speedy recovery and think that maybe I should wear ankle braces while I run next time. Ultimately this post of some of my shoes is a tribute to all of the shoes that long to be worn in my closest but can't be worn due to my injury and the weather.... Enjoy, Carter

Scarf Dress?

How to change up your wardrobe....

I took a lot of my clothes and other special items home with me when I returned to school after spring break. The reason I did this was so that when it comes time to pack, tag and ship  my things, I wont have to ship tons of heavy boxes...only half a ton haha. With a more "simplistic" closet to work with- creativity  with each outfit is needed. I took one of my dresses, that has bright patterns on the front and a series of buttons on the back, and created a new dress with one of my long scarves. all you need to do this is a dress, scarf and pins. You take the scarf and pin the sides of the scarf to the side of the dress to make sure none of my original pattern form the dress shows. Tie the scarf ends around your neck, belt it and you are good to go. I decided that I wanted to have a black hair day and topped my outfit off with gillies-shoes and my 32inch. long black wig. It is monday and I am excited for the outfit possibilities, hopefully you are more excited now about the possibilities of your scarves.

Furbys and Sunglasses

This post is dedicated to my play cast of two: Tora and Noel.
I am a very proud director.
Opening night was last night and they did such an amazing job that I thought of honoring their humor through a humorous fashion post of Furbys along with some fabulously entertaining sunglasses.
These cuddly creatures were and still are a huge collectible/fad. I got these when I was old enough to enjoy them. It wasn't until people started questioning the purpose of the Furby's little black patch in between their eyes that people thought that Furbys were little spies and that patch contained hidden cameras- that the mystic of Furbys went of out style.
Each little Furby has a tag with a saying...using their own Furbish language at times. Here are a couple for you to enjoy:

Once upon a time not so long ago in a far off place, somewhere high in the sky riding on an "a-loh may-lah" (cloud) that floats near a "dah a-loh" (big sun) lived the Furbys, each and every one. Some were grey, and others white some were both, and some were bright small of stature, big of heart all the Furbys were "mee-mee" (very) smart. They spoke a language quite unknown, for Furbish was a language all their own. And on a "a-loh may-lah" (cloud) Furbys romped and played they liked to play "Furby says" and "hide and seek" and around the cloud they could peek all day long they would dance and sing, Furbys could do almost anything. So when you take a Furby home, you will never be alone the more you play, the more they do Furbys keep amazing you "noh-lah" (dance) and "wee-tee" (sing), Furbys have come for "you-nye" (you) and "kah" (me).

The Halloween Furby or as they called it the "Autumn Furby" had this to say: "Furby loves the autumn time, Leaves are falling; it's so sublime. Furby says, what he likes most is that all the colors seem to boast. There's so much orange, yellow and red, The trees, the leaves, dance in Furby's head. Furby is "noo-loo" (happy) and having "dah-doo-ay" (big fun) in pumpkin fields, Furby loves to play. Summer heat turns into autumn cool, and Furby has gone back to school. His friends, his teachers, have all returned, It's time to study, it's time to learn. Fall says in every way, it's the beginning of a brand new day. So, open your books, and start anew, remember to yourself, always be true!

So have a "noo-loo" weekend, filled with "dah-doo-ay" fun!

Spring Fever

I am just tired, drained, and burnt out. I just feel like I am done with the pettiness of Proms. It is just not for me. I am not the one you would see having pictures pop up on Facebook of the Prom pre-parties where the dates stand in a line, girl boy style, and take a smiley photo (you know what I mean) haha. For me it is just more fun to help all the girls get ready for Prom and look like they deserve.....like a million bucks.

I am back stage right now in the Theatre doing work and watching my play being run through for rehearsal. Wednesday is dress rehearsal and Thursday, Friday and Saturday are the big deal days this week. Five directors five plays and I am so excited to be showing my second directorial debut... great way to finish my senior year. Twenty more days!

Fashion: Custo Barcelona dress, Roberto Cavalli snake watch and Jeffery Campbell shoes blogged about in this post and also worn in this post. This Custo Barcelona dress is literally one of my favorite dresses ever. It has such a silky-mesh type feel and drapes over the body with such edgy subtlety. The necklace is from the "Up and Coming Designer's Show" held every Saturday and Sunday in The Church down in SoHo. The watch was bought at a store called "The Lounge" on Prince street in SoHo. I am so sad it went out of business.

Have a good rest of the week,

Carter

Flowers of the Sun

SUNFLOWERS

Why are some of us attracted to Sunflowers?
It’s said that the natives of the Inca Empire worshipped a giant sunflower because of it's sun like appearance, and that Incan priestesses wore large sunflower disks made of gold on their garments. Images of sunflowers were also found in the temples of the Andes mountains. The Native American Indians would place bowls of the sunflower's seeds on the graves of their dead.
One of my favorite things about out planet earth is the fragrances and colors produced by the flowers during spring. This time of the year, I worship the sun's gifts of infinite blossoms. Hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day.Have a happy Monday, I hope you take time to smell the splendors around you, LoveCarter.

P.S::: Fashion: A Michael Stars billowy white tank and Manoush jumper. This jumper has wooden big buttons, cuts outs at the bottom of the shorts and a "Raggedy Ann" kind of back to it with a oval pad with a bow(just look closely at the top photo).

3's

READ:the fashion paragraph comments on how I made this pink jacket.

"Cha Cha Cha."
All good things come in 3's.
Body, Mind, and Soul
Friday, Saturday,and Sunday.
and etc.
I have only 3 classes on Friday and have decided to salute threesomes with recognizing how many great things come in 3's. One example of these 3's is how...
I watched 3 great movies this week courtesy of Netflixs: Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Little Princess and Immortal Beloved. These are some of the movies that are my favs. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon surprised me. I forgot how good all of these movies were. Usually when you revisit a good memory of something you are let down.. but not these movies. CTHDragon , I cried at the end. The Little Princess, I cried all the way through. Immortal Beloved haunted me with creative curiosity for the rest of the day. Now, I have sent them back to only receive three other movies that I am hoping can rock me through the weekend. We have-- SNL: The Best of Chris Kattan (love him), NINE, and The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus. Have you seen NINE or Doctor Parnassus? Mixed reviews, but figured they were completely worth watching. I need suggestions for future movies... any good ones????

Fashion: The jacket is one of my creations. I took 2 separate pieces and brought life to the joining pair. This high padded shoulder baby is one of my prize creations. The pants are Zara Women. The shoes are 80/20 and I am wearing a white corset underneath the jacket. I Love corsets.
