Shoes that have Soles.

René Caovilla, you did it again. When one wears sparkles on their shoes it is usually as a topper to the intimate straps laced around the foot. But now, with this season's René Caovilla, every women can leave their own trail of glitter behind them. With these shoes you can lead your own modern Cinderella story at a big price. When I was in NYC this weekend I was walking around Barney's and literally felt like all of the money my mother and I had was being sucked away just from looking at all of these thousand dollar shoes. So beautiful... so tempting.. but just flat are ridiculous. I really don't think anyone these days has that kind of capital to throw at something like shoes(well shoes are very important and luring). I'll stick with my sales.

On a different note, I started a new painted today. I am exploring swans and willow trees.

18th weekend

My Birthday Gift from mommy... droooooling  I have the best mom on the planet

I arrived in the City Saturday morning ready to just be with the Mommy. We walked, we bought and we laughed. Oh and did I mention we ate? Well GILT was such a different kind of restaurant. The food was well prepared in our 8 course meal experience.  We started off with a refreshing crab and sweet bread appetizer courses. This was my first time ever trying sweet bread (sweet bread is pig organs and tongue). Next was the pistachio and candied olive Foie Gras with droplets of kumquat purée and then a tandoori spice Black Cod with lentil and spinach. Then we were brought our duck with a Kim chi broth and then suckling pig. The pig was very nicely prepared and served with  braised shoulder meat from the pig. For desert I received several different courses one that had beet sorbet, one with gelato and a chocolate waffle piece and then a tiramisu with happy birthday on it. I am now on the train back to school after finishing my sunday eating too much frozen yogurt, watching the Date Night movie and getting sad by the inevitable end of a great weekend with the Mom. We had so much fun. Now, back to school....

My Senior Art Gala...

My senior show consisted of 15 paints and drawings, 3 installations, photography and pottery. The reception was fantastic... every single cupcake was swiped and devoured. Thank you to all of  the people that came. It meant so much to me...

I took my first formal art class in the fall of my Junior year in high school. Starting out as a lover of just one medium, charcoal, I was definitely against  "oils" and painting in general. I didn't like canvas and the prep. for it. It took so long that I felt as I stretched my canvas that I lost the potency of my design by the mechanical works of preparation. I didn't get it. How can people expect to channel  their creativity through a stick with bristles on the end of it,a brush. But once I came off of my "vacation" away from oils I decided to give it another try. I mean oil paints never really afflicted any harm on me but I just saw them as a nuisance. Long story short, I still dislike canvas(shown by that fact that all of my paints are on wood) and I really enjoy oils. Don't you just love happy endings? ahaha
Below you will see my show. If you want to see more just go to my website. All of my pieces are for sale, so if you see one that you like just let me know.
Adios!

I woke up to 18

18

My brown wig and my head band I made... see the post about creating your own.

I woke up to the world looking through the eyes of an 18 year old woman. I had made it. I had made it to  one of the pinocle moments in a humans life where you gain more privileges in the world. I don't really care about the right to buy porn, cigarettes or a lottery ticket. I would rather spend my money on shoes or other more fashionable items. But something changed. This morning it felt different. I felt different. It was like I had put on those pair of pants that fit to a T and slide on  like a glove. Except it was too early that i was still in my PJ's and not those pants haha. That feeling wasn't coming from those potentially designer pants but my skin. I had always felt comfortable in my skin but I felt like my age reflected my speech, my dress, my wisdom and my excitement for life. I can do more. As you rack up those digits on your age you do feel more responsibilities but also more opportunities to start fresh. Today I cried. I cried a lot. I cried because of the fact that my dad is a butt head but mostly because of all the love I had received. The birthday love was overwhelming. I felt like a proud mother watching her little girl on the stage for the first time. You know when moms cry at those special moments because they are so blown away and proud. I was just so flipping happy... i didn't know what else to do that i just kind of blew up hahah. Just between you and me, I think the time of the month is creeping up on me. haha
When ever your birthday is I hop you enjoy it and maybe even cry because it was that good.  Cant wait to spend the weekend celebrating...

Edible Easter

Edible Arrangement,Edible Arrangement,Edible Arrangement! How can fruit on a stick taste so good?!?! The tradition is that on Easter the little ones get baskets. Well this big girl over here got a fruit basket for Easter. My mom called Edible Arrangement and told me that she custom made my order. I didn't even know you could do that for the shapes of your fruit! Well now you can. This edible arrangement had some of my favorite creations ( keep in mind I am a Chocoholic) chocolate covered strawberries, chocolate covered pineapples in the shape of bunny rabbits(pictures are below) pineapple hearts, Pineapple HELLO KITTYS!, chocolate covered apples(they pat the apple down in cinnamon, dip in it chocolate and then put carmel bits on the outside, to die for) and chocolate covered bananas. These bananas are half dipped in dark chocolate and the other half dipped in white chocolate. This Arrangement was so decadent and put me in such an incredible fruit coma. I just want to give a special thanks to the girls who had so much fun with me while eating some of it. We were all droooooooooooooling over it. When I asked a few of my friends "which one was your favorite?" haha....they couldn't choose...

The start to the Birthday week.

Bonjour,
First, I hope that you had a great Easter Sunday celebration. Today, Monday the 5, marks the count down till my Birthday on Wed. I will be 18! Can you believe it? My mother said when I turned 16 "You better watch out gurrl, the rest of your life is going to fly by". Now considering when my mother told me this and the fact that I remember like it was yesterday , just confirms that fact that she was right. This time really did fly by. After working rigorously on my Senior Show, a show in the main gallery which is dedicated to only your own pieces for a week, I started nailing things at 5 and ended at 9:30. But man oh man, I wanted to cry after it was all up. I had never had the privilege of earning time in a large gallery to display my works. I wanted the exhibit to be something that no one can just "walk by." A fantasy world and from the reactions today of teachers being late to their classes, I think I succeeded. It is only Monday and nothing is bringing me down. Well, even though the load to do homework and tests still stay potent, the one thing I can control is the way I handle them. I hope you all have a great week and remember that the one thing you can control is your day, just smile and that will do the trick. Hope you enjoy my posts this week.

P.s NOw for the fAshIon: I am wear one of my wigs. One of my favorites, my black one. It is almost 35 inches long. The Egyptian scarf is one of my favorite ones from Hermes. The shoes are Zara(haha they are like stilts.. soo comfortable) and the pants are Riess. The jacket was a total find. It was on sale and got it for a steal and even in NYC. It has some amazing embroidery. Score! leave me comments if you want to know more...
Ciao!

The Egg women want for Easter

Happy Easter
Faberge Eggs.
Faberge Eggs are the eggs that every women wants to find in her Easter Basket. I was given my first Faberge egg necklace when I was very little. I think it is kind of funny how my mother loved giving me little gold and diamond necklaces and trinkets for special occasions. But even though it was mine, my mother would always keep them away from me in her big jewelry vanity. I guess she feared I would loose it, which is completely valid and maybe even true haha.

FACT: Faberge eggs are Russian. The jewelry firm is called House of Faberge and was started in 1842 .

All about Eggs

Goose can lay whattt??
It is almost Easter and I thought "here is a perfect excuse to tell you about
healthy egg finds".. They may cause a few eye brow raises...

Being open minded to all types of foods comes with an interesting price. Eggs are the easiest things for humans to receive nutrients from. Yummy. The United States is used to waking up to the smell of their chicken eggs being scrambled, boiled or sunnyed side up-ed. But, Helllooo Goose Eggs. Unless you have lived on a farm or with the Amish, not a lot of people have been exposed to the infinite possibilities of what is a goose egg.

Goose eggs... Did I mention that they are huge. A large chicken egg is on the top to show the size in comparison to the mammoth  Goose egg.

the yoke of the goose egg is very big as well. After the egg is scrambled it tastes so good, like buttAh.

Head to Toe in French Diesel.

Head to toe.. well, except for the sunglasses. Those are my Bottega Venetta, adored to the max, sunglasses. But, yes, the jacket, the belt, the limited edition highwaisted french Diesel runway pants and funky wedges are all Decadent Diesel. My lust was uncontrollable when it came to these pants. I look everywhere in the states. From the boutiquey Philly stores to the NYC head quarters, I brought a picture in of these pants to ask if they were in stock. To my surprise no body had any idea what I was talking about, oh how reassuring...

Well coincidentally that summer my mother and I decided to treat ourselves to a relaxing week in a chic hotel in Saint Tropez France for a week called the Villa Belrose. When walking around St. Tropez I walked into a store not even knowing what fashion glory would be at my fingertips. Instantly I saw the shoes. Then, laying effortlessly on a table of jeans, my mother moved a dark washed boot cut to reveal these pants.. They fit like a glove and looked so good that the employe had to bring out items from the back to create this total jean piece. Hope you like it...
